DETAILS
Join us for an enjoyable and interactive evening with a Commercial Director!
We're so excited to have director Nick Spooner join us for the next Commercial Club Industry Event! He cut his comedy chops working at Comedy Central. Over his twenty-plus years directing he has worked on hundreds of commercials. He truly believes you cannot make a good commercial without great casting. Working with actors is his favorite part of the process, and he is eager to work and meet with all of you.
The night will be divided into two sections; however, it will be slightly different from our previous Director event.
1. The Callback
The first twelve members to sign up to audition will participate in a mock callback session with a director.
You will be given four scripts to choose from, pick one to prepare, and you will perform your audition in front of Nick. He loves to play and improvise with actors. This will give you the opportunity to see how he works in a callback setting and what it would be like to work with him on set.
For the other members who sign up, you will have the unique opportunity to act as clients in a callback room. You will be in the virtual audition room with Nick. You will watch all of the actors perform. You will see how he adjusts and works with each actor making different choices. In the end, you will be able to discuss with Nick how the overall callback went, the selection process, and how we came up with a cast.
2. The Q&A
After we have completed the callback, every member will have a chance to join a Q&A with Nick. This will give you a chance to ask questions, share your thoughts, and learn more about Nick and his comedic directing process.
Read his bio, check out his website, and come ready to connect with him on a variety of subjects.
Nick loves to pass on knowledge to actors to shorten the learning gap and find more success faster and easier. Ultimately he wants you to have more control over the audition process. He truly loves to share with people and help us all move forward in our careers.
This will be a very fun night where we can talk, learn, and perform!
Make sure you RSVP right away so we can plan the evening accordingly!!
**Remember: This is a private event, only open to members. (so no plus ones this time).
Our guests are working professionals and sometimes have last minute changes in their schedules. Because of this, the date of the event is subject to change and will be rescheduled, if needed.
